Equity Data Science (EDS) Appoints Sebastian Lonza as Chief Revenue Officer to Accelerate Growth Across Institutional Markets

Equity Data Science (EDS), a leading provider of Investment Process Management (IPM) solutions for hedge funds and asset managers, today announced the appointment of Sebastian Lonza, CFA, CAIA as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Lonza joins EDS with deep expertise across portfolio analytics, risk management, and enterprise technology, bringing over a decade of experience helping institutional investors modernize their investment workflows.

Prior to joining EDS, Lonza served as Global Head of Portfolio Risk and Analytics Distribution for Goldman Sachs Marquee, where he led strategic growth initiatives for portfolio management and risk solutions serving hedge funds, asset managers & asset owners.

Before Goldman Sachs, Lonza spent more than eight years at Bloomberg, with senior positions across portfolio and risk management solutions. He became a trusted advisor to many of the industry’s largest institutional investors, helping shape product strategy while driving broad enterprise adoption.

“Sebastian brings a unique combination of institutional credibility, deep domain expertise, and a proven ability to build and scale enterprise businesses,” said Greg McCall, Co-Founder and President of EDS. “He understands the day-to-day realities of how investment teams make decisions. As EDS continues expanding our platform and delivering next-generation research, risk, performance and AI capabilities, Sebastian is the ideal leader to help accelerate our growth.”

“I’m incredibly excited to join EDS at such an important stage in its growth,” said Sebastian Lonza, Chief Revenue Officer at EDS. “After a decade sitting across the table from PMs and risk teams, I’ve watched the same problem play out: investment decisions get made in spreadsheets and side systems because the core platforms don’t bend to how teams actually work. EDS solved that. The configurability is real, the AI layer is built on top of a workflow that already makes sense, and that combination is what will win this category.”

Lonza also holds both the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.
