Körber achieves Platinum in the 2026 EcoVadis sustainability rating
PR Newswire
HAMBURG, Germany, Sept. 1, 2026
HAMBURG, Germany, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — With its fourth consecutive EcoVadis assessment, Körber has improved once again and, after receiving Gold last year, has now achieved Platinum. This places the global technology company among the top 1 percent of all companies assessed worldwide.
As part of a voluntary EcoVadis assessment in 2026, Körber was awarded the Platinum Medal for its sustainability performance. By moving from Gold to Platinum, the global technology company underscores its continuous progress in sustainability management. Körber ranks among the top 1 percent of assessed companies overall and in all four rated categories.
“The Platinum award is a great shared success made possible by many teams across Körber worldwide. It shows the level of commitment, responsibility, and perseverance with which sustainability is being advanced throughout our company. The fact that we were able to improve even further and move from Gold last year to Platinum now makes this recognition especially valuable. It confirms our ambition to firmly embed sustainability in our business and make its impact measurable,” says Michaela Thiel, Head of Sustainability at Körber.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading sustainability rating platforms and assesses companies in the categories Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. With Platinum status, Körber confirms its position as a responsibly acting company with high standards across all key sustainability dimensions. At the same time, the rating is becoming increasingly important for customers and business partners, as high sustainability standards are more and more often required in tenders and supply chains.
The progress confirmed in the EcoVadis rating is also reflected in current developments across the three ESG dimensions of Environment, Social, and Governance, which are also documented in the Körber Sustainability Report 2025:
- Environment: In 2025, Körber reduced its greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 14 percent compared with 2024. In addition, the company calculated the CO2e footprint for all machines delivered to customers in the Business Area Technologies for the first time in 2025. This creates greater transparency around the material-based emissions of its products and provides an important basis for future improvements. The introduction of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud also further strengthened the data foundation for capturing and analyzing sustainability metrics. These advances are helping Körber achieve its net-zero goal across the entire value chain by 2040.
- Social: Körber also further expanded its responsibilities in the social field. Together with suppliers, a total of 314 development plans to reduce human rights and ESG risks were launched in 2025, 83 of which have already been successfully completed. In addition, a new group-wide guideline on health and occupational safety strengthens safe and health-promoting working conditions at our sites worldwide.
- Governance: In the area of responsible corporate governance, Körber further strengthened its cybersecurity measures. More than 90 percent of its IT infrastructure is monitored around the clock by the Cyber Defense Center, with all business-critical areas fully covered. This helps detect threats early, contain incidents quickly, and reduce risks sustainably. In addition, Körber received a Platinum rating in the CyberVadis assessment for the second time in 2026 – further proof of its high standards in information security and cyber resilience.
“The Platinum award from EcoVadis is far more than an external seal of approval for Körber. It underlines that sustainability is strategically embedded in the company and put into practice in concrete ways through the daily actions of our teams worldwide,” emphasizes Michaela Thiel.
